The Founders
Our association stands out for the diverse expertise of its founding members, bringing together skills in olfaction, odors, chemistry, regulation, and education.
Founded in April 2025 by five passionate members—Esméralda, Hélène, Laura, Marion, and Romain—the association operates under a co-management model.
This organizational choice is intended to strengthen teamwork and uphold our values of sharing and fairness, avoiding any hierarchy that could hinder collaboration.
By promoting a democratic approach, we are committed to acting collectively to advance our mission!

Holder of a degree in physics and chemistry, he now applies his teaching and pedagogical skills to the service of the Olf'Active association. Passionate about knowledge sharing and scientific outreach, he is committed to supporting the association's educational projects by making sometimes complex scientific concepts accessible, particularly in the field of sensory sciences.
Esméralda, Chemist
Founder, Co-Manager
With a PhD in analytical chemistry applied to essential oils, she has spent nearly 20 years in the industry studying the chemistry of flavors, perfumes, and natural extracts. Her extensive training in aromatherapy and olfactotherapy has further enriched her expertise. She has combined passion and profession to honor her two grandmothers, a chemist and a jasmine picker, respectively. Today, she aims to share her knowledge and make olfaction accessible to everyone!
Marion , Perfumer
Founder, Co-Manager
Passionate about scents from a young age, she pursued a scientific course in organic chemistry at Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI), and in 2003 joined the Institut Supérieur International de la Parfumerie, de la Cosmétique et des Arômes in Versailles, where she trained in perfume chemistry and became a Perfumer. She believes that sharing and communicating knowledge about scents is essential for society and is committed to supporting projects aligned with this vision.
Hélène, Regulatory Specialist

A chemist with 20 years of experience in the cosmetics industry, specializing in Regulatory Affairs and Perfumery, she is perfectionist, adaptable, and values sharing knowledge. She is ready to take on new challenges, share her expertise, and convey it to diverse audiences, whether experts or not. For her, the sharing of knowledge is essential to advance practices and innovations in the field of Flavors, Fragrances, and Cosmetics.

Falling by chance into the world of odor chemistry, a true passion was born for her: the passion to smell, understand, and analyze scents and what they reveal. A BTS in analytical chemistry marked the beginning of a journey built through experiences in various companies, providing opportunities to explore diverse environments, grow professionally, and strengthen expertise guided above all by curiosity and wonder

Often overlooked in daily life, the sense of smell is nevertheless fundamental and deserves recognition. Scents have the power to awaken buried memories and evoke strong emotions—abilities we often underestimate.
Yet, education around odors remains limited, leaving many people unaware of the olfactory richness that surrounds them.
Our goal is to democratize the world of scents, making their exploration accessible to all, without discrimination. By raising public awareness of the importance of smell, we hope to encourage a deeper appreciation of the aromas that enrich our daily lives and foster genuine emotional connections. By restoring this sense to its rightful place, we can transform our perception of the world and create memorable sensory experiences.
